Attorney Benbow grew up in Allendale Michigan, a small town near Holland Michigan, which was comprised of about 3,000 full time residents at that time. Attorney Benbow was an all-conference football player his senior year when he served as a co-captain of the football team. Attorney Benbow also made the state finals in wrestling in 1991. Attorney Benbow graduated high school with honors in 1992 while being voted “most fun to be with.”
Prior to attending law school, Attorney Benbow attended stayed close to home to attend Grand Valley State University in Allendale Michigan from 1992-1996 while making the Dean’s List multiple times. Attorney Benbow graduated from Grand Valley State University in 1996 with a B.B.A. in Management. Grand Valley State University currently holds the record for the most wins in Division II football history. Attorney Benbow spent the summer after graduation from Grand Valley State University in the Washington Campus Program prior to attending Law School. This program, located at Georgetown University in Washington D.C., was comprised of the best M.B.A. students from the top schools in the nation; and consisted of direct contact with high ranking federal officials in the furtherance of bridging communications between government and business. Attorney Benbow was the only participant from an undergraduate program.
Attorney Benbow attended Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio from 1996-1999 on a partial scholarship. Attorney Benbow made the choice to attend Law School in Columbus, Ohio to be close to his entire extended family who resided in Columbus, Ohio at that time. Attorney Benbow also chose Columbus, Ohio to be close the best football team that ever existed, The Ohio State Buckeyes. Attorney Benbow worked for the AFL-CIO (a large labor union) during Law School along with private law firms and the Franklin County Municipal Court as the Chief Law Clerk.  Attorney Benbow is a 1999 Graduate of Capital University Law School with honors where he made the Dean’s List multiple times. Attorney Benbow was awarded the highest grade for his performance in Trial Advocacy during his third year of Law School. Attorney Benbow was also awarded the prestigious Order of Coif by Capital University Law School.
Attorney Benbow began his career after graduating from Capital University Law School as the Staff Attorney for Judge Bessey in the Franklin County Common Pleas Court General Division. Attorney Benbow was tasked with writing proposed decisions involving hundreds of civil matters and criminal matters including a death penalty case. Attorney Benbow, upon leaving the Franklin County Court system, then practiced law in a small private law firm in the representation of about 85 various insurance companies.
Attorney Benbow, upon meeting his wife, Amanda Benbow, moved to Zanesville, Ohio in 2003. Attorney Benbow practiced law in two different law firms before starting his own law firm in 2003 where he works today. Benbow Law Offices has two offices, one in Zanesville, Ohio and one in Coshocton, Ohio. Attorney Benbow engages in the general practice of law including bankruptcy, family law, criminal defense, personal injury, probate, wills/estates, contract disputes, business disputes, unemployment and general litigation. 
Attorney Benbow is currently the President of the Board of Directors of Hopewell Industries in Coshocton, Ohio. Hopewell Industries is the industry leader in Ohio for providing work opportunities for those with disabilities. Attorney Benbow helped spearhead the privatization of Hopewell Industries when it went from being a county entity to a private organization. Attorney Benbow then helped spearhead a strategic alliance with a competitor, which was one of the first successful efforts of that kind attempted in Ohio.
Attorney Benbow is also a member of the advisory board for administrative professionals at Mid East Career Center in Zanesville, Ohio.
Attorney Benbow currently resides in Nashport, Ohio with his Wife, Amanda Benbow, niece Caley Kildow and his two Chihuahuas who come to work with him every day in Zanesville. Attorney Benbow enjoys working out, travelling, dining out, cooking, sports and playing on his cell phone.
